The 2025 Edition of Michter's Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey is an ultra-rare release shipping in February 2026, limited to just 315 bottles globally. This blend features seven barrels—four rye and three bourbon—ranging from 12 to over 30 years old, bottled at 115.2 proof (57.6% ABV).
The oldest components of the Celebration blend are more than 30 years old — as old as the current era of Michter’s itself. While the brand traces its history back to 1753, when it was based in Pennsylvania, the distillery had been mothballed for several years by the time Magliocco acquired the trademark in the mid-1990s. He moved the brand to Kentucky and began sourcing barrels for bottling under the Michter’s name. Several years later, Michter’s began producing its own whiskey at other distilleries. The youngest whiskeys in Celebration date to just before Michter’s own distillery opened in Shively, Kentucky. This release of Celebration, then, is likely the last to exclusively feature pre-Shively whiskeys.
Each bottle of Celebration is presented in an eye-catching gift box and includes a letter signed by McKee.
