The vessel itself is a tribute to the Wixárika (Huichol) people, who craft spiritual narratives in color. Each pattern of beads and yarn is imbued with sacred symbolism—representing prayers, visions, and connections to nature, the sun, and ancient traditions. This limited-edition Añejo honors this living, vibrant tapestry of Mexican heritage and soul.
barrel: Time & Terroir
Like all Ocho expressions, this Añejo begins as a Single Estate Tequila, showcasing the unique terroir from a specific agave field. It is then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of one year, transforming its character while maintaining the integrity and unmistakable presence of the cooked agave. The aging process adds richness, smoothness, and layers of baking spice.
Tasting Notes:
- Añejo Elegance Color: Rich, golden amber with brilliant clarity.
- Nose: A beautiful balance between the sweetness of cooked agave and the influence of the oak. Aromas of vanilla bean, caramel, cinnamon, and toasted nuts blend seamlessly with the underlying earthy and fruity agave notes.
- Palate: Luxurious, smooth, and full-bodied. The initial sweetness of the agave is complemented by decadent flavors of toffee, dark chocolate, and dried tropical fruit (like fig or apricot). A warm, brown spice character—nutmeg and clove—emerges from the oak aging.
- Finish: Long, velvety, and exceptionally smooth. The finish leaves a sophisticated warmth, concluding with lingering notes of sweet tobacco, caramel, and a refined hint of peppery spice. Perfect For: Savoring neat in a snifter to appreciate its complexity, or as a sophisticated twist in an Añejo Old
