Lalocura Espadín — Eduardo Ángeles
A beautifully traditional Espadín agave spirit from Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca, produced by master mezcalero Eduardo Javier Ángeles Carreño of Lalocura.
Made from Espadín (Agave angustifolia), this expression follows the ancestral production methods that define Lalocura. The agave is cooked in a pre-Hispanic-style underground oven, then double distilled in clay pots. The final strength is adjusted using puntas & colas, preserving the spirit’s distinctive character.
Bottled at 48.2% ABV (96.4 proof), this Espadín should show a vibrant balance of roasted agave, citrus, fresh herbs and earthy minerality, followed by touches of green pepper, subtle tropical fruit, gentle smoke and clay. The finish is clean yet persistent, with savory agave, minerals and peppery spice lingering on the palate.
